Last Day in Paradise

We had a checkout time of 12pm. We woke up around 10:30am, and started to get ready to leave. Jen and John woke up earlier, and were lucky enough to be able to book a coffee tasting at Nativo. It turns out they roast their own beans for the entire resort. They were able to sample coffee in 3 different methods: Chemex, Siphon, and French Press. Sounded pretty cool!

We checked out then headed for lunch. The adults went to the Habibi (Lebanese food), and the kids went to the buffet.

After lunch, we headed to the beach to take some family photos:

We ended up getting 15 fresh coconuts for each one of us:

By now it was 3pm, and the Fung/Ly’s and us had to depart for the airport for our 6:40pm flight. The Chin’s and the Wong’s would stay behind for 1 more night. Here’s some of the fun that we missed out on!

And some of the food that we missed out on at Le Chateau.

We got to the airport without issue with our provided shuttle service. Check-in and security was a breeze. We bought some duty free, then headed to the lounge. I had 7 passes for the 7 of us, so we hung out there until our flight.

Check out the rain before we departed:

Sadly, Jacob wasn’t feeling well after the lounge, and his flight home was a terrible one. He was whimpering and groaning the entire flight because he was feeling nauseous. Poor guy.

Connor and Isla sat up again in premium economy in row 14, while Lisa and I sat in the exit row again (with lots of leg room). Seeing as this flight wasn’t a red eye, there was no need to sleep. We would touch down at YVR just after 10pm, so I just stayed up for the flight. I watched 3 movies. Connor told me he watched a Garfield movie, and 12 episodes of Modern Family. haha

We promptly got off the plane when we landed, walked through to customs, took the nexus lane, picked up our luggage immediately, and before you knew it we were in an Uber, and on our way home. We were home by 11pm! We all ate some instant noodles, and the kids showered and went to bed. Lisa and I emptied all our luggage and started washing all of our dirty clothes. I’m just waiting for the 2nd load of laundry to complete so I can put it in the dryer… so here I am blogging.

That was our day, and ultimately, that was our week in Cancun. An amazing 7 nights, 8 days spent with with family and great friends. Indulging in great weather, a lot of food, and a lot of fun. It was so relaxing. All the memories that we made won’t be forgotten any time soon.

Man, I can’t wait to go again.
