Sechelt, here we come!

Craig’s sister in law was nice enough to rent us her rental in Sechelt. So we planned a trip with Tammy and Erica’s family to go for a few days. We were originally trying to plan another RV trip because the kids loved it so much and they wanted to keep asking us to go on another RV trip, but its so expensive to rent one. We took forever to decide on what to do, and eventually ran out of time to plan anything so we are sticking to local instead.

Sechelt is only a ferry ride away from Horseshoe bay terminal to Langdale. The house itself is another hour away from the terminal. Our sailing is 12:10pm and we got there about 40min early. By the time we get there, there’s an announcement that the sailing is 25 min late. So we decided to go down to the village to get some food for the kids. We got some Subway for the kids and they were happy.

And then on the ferry, we got more food. Pirate pak’s are $10 and we ordered a couple for the “kids” to share. The ferry ride was just shy of an hour long so we got to our destination pretty fast.

Erica’s family and us got to the house first, and Tammy came on the 2:30 sailing. The house itself is nice and big, but there’s no AC and this weekend is hot! Hopefully, at night it’ll cool down. Luckily a couple of the rooms have ceiling fans, and the we also brought 2-3 fans.

We spent most of the day around the table with our laptops out. Most of us had to work, so I just pulled out my work laptop so I wouldn’t feel left out – thank goodness for work from home!

The kids went to work picking their rooms, and Isla had originally decided to sleep with Riley and Eli in a room downstairs. Connor was ecstatic because that meant he had his own room and bed, but of course, she changed her mind when it came time to go to sleep and wanted to sleep with him in his room. He was not happy.

For dinner, we made meatball subs which the kids loved. Connor actually ate two subs, which I’m surprised about. He ate the most out of everyone.

And we just lounged around. We ended up having the adult side of the house, and the kids side of the house – which is great! We eventually got the kids to bed around 11:30-midnight, and the adults stayed up for a bit. We had a cheese plate too and Tammy made us instant noodles for midnight snack. That’s it for our night!
