And more sun…

Yesterday, we discussed maybe going on a tour to go see the ruins. But I looked on my phone, and the weather said it was going to rain so we never booked anything. So today, we had nothing to do again! We got out of room later today and missed buffet breakfast. We ended up at Andale’s again for burgers and roast chicken. And then we walked out to the front of the resort to look at the shops there. It’s only a 5-10 min walk but it’s so hot today, there was a lot of complaining! Thank goodness we didn’t spend money to be under the sun for hours to go see the ruins! The kids would have been miserable!

The shops here totally gouge you. They are quoting prices that are double the price of the store in the hotel. I’m actually surprised they can quote the prices they were quoting us with a straight face. I totally don’t mind paying more since they need to make a living, but really they quote prices that make you not even want to negotiate.

This is where Wes gets his daily coffee and where Isla gets her hot chocolate:

The kids played some Nintendo Switch in Nathan’s room before we headed to the pool.

So then after that, we go to the pool again. The kids go off and order their own food from the food truck and Andales. It’s great that they can be independent here. It was harder for us to get umbrella and beach chairs today! All of them were taken but the pool wasn’t busy. I hate it when people do that and reserve chairs but never show up!

Isla went with James and Chris to go play with Nathan in their room.

We eventually packed up and went to play vball with Connor.. Connor is getting so much better at volleyball! He is better than me now! Wes really appreciates that he can pepper with him now.

Here he is trying to overhand serve and doing pretty well at it:

We went back to the room to get cleaned up, and we gave the kids the choice of homework or nap. Isla took nap and Connor took the homework. Connor chose homework of course.

We went to the buffet after and hung out a the lounge bar where they convinced Chris to buy a bottle of tequila instead of just a round of shots. The kids went to Jen’s room to hang and we were left without the kids!

We walked around outside to figure out there was a silent disco happening. Basically, everyone has headphones on and chooses what DJ they want to listen to. We never booked out headphones so we were quite disappointed we couldn’t join!

After a bit of a snack from the food truck, It was time for some ZZs,
