More sun!

We’ve been trying to keep the kids on pacific time so have been keeping them up later. Which means in order to get their 10 hours of sleep, I’ve been telling them to sleep in till at least 10am. But they don’t have a proper clock, so Isla keeps forgetting what time she should wake up and have been waking up earlier than I want her to. Of course, this means she wakes us up early!

Another day rushing to get our for breakfast before the buffet closes at 10:30am. Chris and James were already there. The kids have not been eating too much. I used to always think they ate everything because they are quite good at eating pretty much everything at home, but I have realized they are really spoiled. They are barely eating anything other than fries here. They are quite picky with the quality of the food. It’s either not hot enough, too too soggy, or too salty, or not salty enough, or not fresh. Seriously, you are 8 and 11, why are you so picky. Guess it’s my fault for spoiling them at home. At breakfast today, Isla was so excited to find churros and her eyes got too greedy. The took 5 from the buffet, only to take one bite and say it’s no good and refuse to eat the rest. She used to eating them fresh and crispy because we make them at home. BUT, they love the independence they are getting since they get to just go order whatever they want on their own.

We wandered around after breakfast and landed at the lobby bar. Connor was excited to see the pool table was free so we went to play. Wes came to join us there for some coffee.

Not much else to do so it’s pool time again! The pool hasn’t been busy the last couple of days. It’s been easy to get seats and umbrellas. Usually at resorts, it’s a fight for seats! Andales burger is right behind us which is nice and convenient. They have a roast chicken, and it’s pretty much the only thing that Isla likes so far because it is freshly roasted. Our bar is low, if it’s hot it’s good! Their burgers are also relatively good because they are freshly made when you order.

Christina and I went to the buffet in the afternoon for a quick salad before they closed, and we all headed back to our rooms.

I figured it was time to wash some clothes, and hopefully most of it will dry soon since it’s quite hot here. It’s nice to have the hangers outside our room.

Then it was time for kids to do some homework and for Wes to go to the gym. No rest from homework!

Chris and James had a reservation for a sit down teppanyaki dinner at 530. Ours wasn’t until 8pm. But they were messaging us and said it wasn’t good, so we decided to go change our reservation to another place for another day. So it’s buffet again for us tonight! For our stay here, we get to book 3 sit down dinners so we don’t have to go to buffet or burgers/taco joints. But unfortunately, it’s not easy to make reservations so our group can’t really eat together. The buffet has a lot of furry friends that come visit.

We went for coffee at the lobby bar, and then back to Chris and James room for some big 2.

And around 11pm, Isla wanted fries so we all went to the food truck for some fries, nachos and ice cream. That’s it for our night!
