Our Annual Camping trip

We took our annual camping trip with the regular crew, and some familiar faces! We managed to book a group camping site at Sunnyside Campgrounds at Cultus Lake. It turned out to be an awesome site. Ample room, beach side, a covered gazebo, our own showers/bathroom, our own water source, and even access to electricity. We had a pretty big group go this year too, so it was fantastic having such a great site. Good and bad, because I don’t think I want to camp at any other site anymore. We had such easy access to the beach, the docks, and swimming. It was literally steps away from our campsite.

Here’s a video of our campsite taken by Stan.

Speaking of Stan, him and Anthony joined us this year. It has been years since the two of them had actually gone camping, so it was nice having them with us!

Connor must have spent 6 hours a day fishing. Thanks to Uncle Andy helping him set up his rod, and taking them out fishing on the dinghy, he was able to catch 1 fish.

Thank goodness he didn’t end up empty handed for the weekend. He caught a pike minnow, a modest size; of which Tammy cooked for dinner. It was yummy!

As mentioned, Connor spent hours on end every day fishing. Him and Riley really enjoy the past time and were both so dedicated to trying to get something!

Here they are literally fishing in the lake:

We had a bunch of kids with us this year too. Eli and Matt’s friends’ Lucas and Riley joined us for the weekend. Of course our regular crew of friends: Riley and Tyler, Brayden, Dylan, Eli, Matt, Jacob. They all got along great too. They’re all such good kids.

We did a bunch of other things too, like mountain biking through the trails nearby:

Of course we swam and relaxed in the water:

And who could forget late night adult drinking games beach side.

4 days, 3 nights. Meals consisting of Smash Burgers, with an avocado, cucumber sesame salad. Bacon, eggs, sausages with brioche buns, cinnamon buns. Chili dogs, and corn on the cob. Nam Vermicelli bowls. Meatball subs with caesar salad. Filipino pork skewers with garlic rice and gai-lan. And finally, Spam and brioche breakfast buns. Yeah, this isn’t your run of the mill camping with hot dogs and burgers (though we had those), but there were some damn good meals thanks to the moms!!!

Now that the kids are older, they are much more capable in helping around the campsite as well. Here are they are with dishwashing duty:

Preparation and planning is no joke, and thank goodness we have such capable moms doing all of this. This is how organized they are!

Another year, another great trip with our friends. We lucked out with the weather too. It didn’t rain until AFTER we left the campsite. Thank goodness!!!

Till next year!!!

Oh, and I have to post photos of clean doggies after being bathed!
